Manufacturing
The news you hear about the end of manufacturing is simply not true. Sure, manufacturing is changing, but that’s what our programs are all about. World class quality, precision and automation are the foundations for manufacturing related education in Livingston County. The need for highly skilled manufacturing technicians with knowledge about quality control has never been greater.
In machine trades and metal working, students use high-tech Computerized Numerical Control ( CNC ) machines just like those found in industry to produce products that often are part of a larger project. The design and production of manufactured pieces might result in items for sale or parts for the rebuild of a motorcycle.
Manufacturing students need an eye for detail, strong computational skills, a mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve problems.
Machine Trades and Manufacturing are offered at Howell and Pinckney High Schools.
